ABOUT THIS SITE

Freeswimming.org draws together information on free and reduced price swimming interventions. The site will interest those who are considering offering free swimming. It includes frank learning from a range of initiatives on what works, what doesn't and why. Interventions vary from one-off free swims for the public, to targeted initiatives to provide affordable swimming to specific groups.

Remember - free swimming is ONE way of increasing participation - it is most successful when used as part of a wider approach to getting more people into the pool.

Freeswimming.org includes:

  • Case studies from areas where free swimming has been trialled
  • Pitfalls to avoid
  • Getting support for free swimming
  • A checklist for developing a free swimming initiative
  • Information on key topics such as funding and marketing
  • Interactive support pages for you to add your own case studies and discuss issues with colleagues
